Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals (@ATL)
33% owned in Yahoo! Leagues, 28.6% owned in ESPN Leagues
Andy Dalton is the QB8 through the first 3 weeks and he’s still barely owned. His upcoming schedule is almost too good to be true: @ ATL, vs. MIA, vs. PIT, @ KC, vs. TB, BYE, vs. NO. It gets a little tougher after that but we’re talking about possible Top 10 QB finishes for 6 of the next 7 weeks. Andy Dalton needs to be owned in 100% of leagues.
Case Keenum, Denver Broncos (vs. KC)
27% owned in Yahoo! Leagues, 17.1% owned in ESPN Leagues
Keenum’s had an up and down year, but this week he faces (far and away) the NFL’s worst defense. Through 3 games, the Chiefs have allowed an impossible 1,088 passing yards, 8 passing touchdowns, and have produced just 1 interception. Confidently roll with Case Keenum as your starter in Week 4.
Eli Manning, New York Giants (vs. NO)
18% owned in Yahoo! Leagues, 10.3% owned in ESPN Leagues
It’s a terrifying prospect but the matchup is there. New Orleans’ defense has seemingly regressed to the defense that fantasy owners know and love. They’ve allowed monster performances to Ryan Fitzpatrick and Matt Ryan, and a serviceable one to Tyrod Taylor. The Giants will likely be playing from behind for most of the game, offering Manning ample opportunity to put up points against the Saints’ porous defense. I get it if you’re too afraid but as I said before, the matchup is there.
Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears (vs. TB)
15% owned in Yahoo! Leagues, 22.2% owned in ESPN Leagues
Trubisky put up a dud last week. His growing pains are apparent -- he gets locked-on in his first progression and has trouble identifying secondary options. However, Tampa Bay and its explosive offense (assuming it’s still being quarterbacked by Ryan Fitzpatrick) will likely be leading for much of this game. Trubisky will be in position to throw a high-volume of passes and should have a number of opportunities to scramble for chunk gains against a god-awful TB defense.
Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens (@ PIT)
14% owned in Yahoo! Leagues, 8.2% owned in ESPN Leagues
Pittsburgh struggles to stop anything, instead opting for an offense vs. offense approach. Flacco’s retooled receiving corps has paid dividends thus far and he should have no problem posting solid QB2 numbers, or better, this week. Count on him as a Top 20 option.
