Tight End Rankings: Week 3

Heath gives you the tight end ranks you need heading into the third week of fantasy football.

NFL: San Franciso 49ers-OTA Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

I am already feeling the time evaporate. Here we are in Week 3 already! Yours truly has a hometown league that is in trouble at 0-2 overall. In most other spaces I am 1-1...how about you all?

I’m desperate for Ricky Seals-Jones to have a showing this week (and he’s had decent target volume). Looks like that 0-2 team might be in trouble...

Anyway, here’s my first pass at tight ends this week. Haggle away in the comments or tell me if you think I missed someone. Peace!

Week 3 Tight End Rankings

RANK PLAYER OPPONENT NOTES
RANK PLAYER OPPONENT NOTES
1 Rob Gronkowski @ DET Gronk got the Julio Jones treatment last week. Expect that to change against the Lions.
2 Travis Kelce vs. SF He's fresh off a pair of scores last week and safety Tartt (shoulder) is banged up.
3 Zach Ertz vs. IND He's a target-monster right now with Alshon Jeffery still out and Mike Wallace on IR.
4 George Kittle @ KC The Niners should be chasing, and I'm inclined to trust the production I saw in Week 1.
5 Evan Engram @ HOU He was limited in practice on Wednesday, but it appears to be a minor injury (ankle).
6 Trey Burton @ ARI It's possible A-Rob is slowed by Patrick Peterson, perhaps opening the door for Burton...
7 Jordan Reed vs. GB He's Jack Doyle sans the timeshare.
8 Kyle Rudolph vs. BUF He caught 7-of-8 balls against Green Bay last week and the matchup is a plus.
9 Jimmy Graham @ WAS The guy everyone said would score 10 billion touchdowns has precisely zero so far.
10 Jack Doyle @ PHI He's never off the field (58 snaps last week) so I still like him as a low-end TE1.
11 O.J. Howard vs. PIT The Steelers were gashed by Kelce last week (7-109-2).
12 Jared Cook @ MIA He followed up his Week 1 explosion by catching all four balls thrown his way last week.
13 Jesse James @ TB He exploded for 138 yards in Week 2 and has an epic matchup against the Bucs.
14 Eric Ebron @ PHI He is a red zone threat for Andrew Luck, like it or not.
15 David Njoku vs. NYJ The Jets have been stingy against tight ends so far--against Levine Toilolo and A.J. Derby...
16 Benjamin Watson @ ATL A few targets could pay off with Atlanta missing Pro Bowlers Keanu Neal and Deion Jones.
17 Austin Seferian-Jenkins vs. TEN I'm honestly just chasing a score, here. Hey, at least Bortles is hot, right?
18 Will Dissly vs. DAL This supposed "blocking specialist" keeps producing. DAL just allowed 7-67-1 to Engram.
19 Ricky Seals-Jones vs. CHI Not giving up on RSJ just yet. Bears allowed combined 6-65-1 to Dissly/Vannett last week.
20 Charles Clay @ MIN Jimmy Graham managed 95! receiving yards vs. MIN last week. Clay has to be considered.
