Welcome to another week of Fake Teams fantasy football mailbag. If you want to send in your questions for next week’s mailbag (it comes out every Thursday, just in time for football), here are the ways to join:

  • tweet @petemrogers or @Faketeams using #FTFFmailbag
  • email at ftffmailbag@gmail.com
  • leave your question in the comments!

Onto the mailbag:

Q: I just drafted Larry Fitzgerald as my WR2 but now am worried that he might be peering over the cliff. Should I be worried? Should I be trying to trade to get another WR2?
— Jack L.

There are few things in the NFL more certain than Larry Fitzgerald producing at a consistent rate. The Patriots winning the AFC East might be the only thing more certain. Fitz could play with Brock Osweiler, Blake Bortles, Jamarcus Russell and Tim Tebow all in one season and he’d still somehow manage to put up 1,000 yards and six touchdowns. I wouldn’t fret about Fitz looking over the cliff and possibly falling down. He’ll never age and never be bad.

Stats-wise, Fitz has averaged—AVERAGED—152 targets, 108 receptions for 1,131 yards and seven touchdowns over the last three years. He’ll put up WR2 numbers this year.

Q: Gotta start one of these guys week 1: Cooks, Hogan or Watkins.
— Claire D.

I love it Claire. Always be looking one week further than your opponent. That’s how you win games. While many are relaxing, taking in the final week of preseason football, you’re already looking ahead to actual football and what is important. I applaud you.

As for who to start, if you need points and can’t risk a bad performance, Chris Hogan’s your guy. He’s going to be Tom Brady’s go to receiver to start this season with Julian Edelman suspended and I bet you he’ll catch a touchdown in Week 1. If you want biggest upside, Brandin Cooks. Cooks has toasted the Raiders defense on multiple occasions for HUGE games and what’s stopping him doing it again to start this season with his new team?

Q: What are your top 5 favorite pop songs of the 21st century?
— Will G.
