Pittsburgh Steelers use the franchise tag on Le’Veon Bell

We all knew it was coming, and now it has come.

NFL: New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers Philip G. Pavely-USA TODAY Sports

In the least shocking news of the offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers have officially franchise tagged running back Le’Veon Bell to the tune of 14 million dollars.

That’s quite a bit of change.

We all knew this was going to happen. Nothing about this should be surprising. Bell is arguably the best running back in the NFL and you don’t just let that kind of talent touch the open market. There was a tiny part of me that thought for just a half second that maybe the Steelers would move on from Bell, both because of cost and off the field stuff, but ultimately they figured the best running back in the NFL was worth it.

And he is.

Fantasy wise, Le’Veon gonna be Le’Veon. If he’s healthy, he’s the best running back in fantasy. And I say this despite the fact that I just drafted David Johnson instead of Bell in the MLF10s league I just joined. HERE’S TO YOU DAVID JOHNSON!

Long story short, we knew this was going to happen and Le’Veon Bell is still really really good.

The end.
