Sammy Watkins is headed to Kansas City as the free agent wide receiver is expected to sign with the Chiefs once NFL free agency officially starts:
When free agency opens Wednesday, former Rams’ WR Sammy Watkins intends to sign with the KC Chiefs, source tells ESPN.

Honestly, this Chiefs offense could be scary good this coming year. Obviously a lot resides on second year quarterback Pat Mahomes, but an offense already with Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce just added Watkins. That has the potential to be all kinds of explosive.
The best thing that Watkins did during his time in LA was stay healthy. His 39 catches for 593 yards and eight touchdowns (holy crap Sammy Watkins caught eight touchdowns last year? Where was I for all those?) were nice but the biggest hit against Watkins was his inability to stay on the field. Hopefully his year in LA is a sign of things to come because if so, he should be rocketing up draft boards.
If we’re taking a way too early look at Andy Reid’s offense—which is clearly what we’re doing—my guess is Watkins fills the Jeremy Maclin role, a role which got Maclin 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns in 2015. Watkins is immensely talented and he could easily put those numbers up if all goes according to plan.
What do you think? Are you higher on Watkins now then you were when he was in LA?
