I’ll try not to offer too many spoilers but I couldn’t hold back. The Opening Ceremony is on, it’s 6am, I’m a few minutes late but I’m geeking out. You can watch the recorded version tonight at 8pm on NBC.

The blessed time of year when we can ignore all of the turmoil and engage in some good old fashioned sporting competition!

I’m sure this stadium is packed but the light system of each country make it tough to tell if anyone is in the crowd. With that said, it looks really cool to see the light show wrap around the stadium. Also I really wish they showed the number of athletes represented from each country. I really liked it when past opening ceremonies did that.

Singapore represents! One person. One very strong person! Cheyenne Goh!!

Russian athletes coming in wearing Grey. There has to be a prop bet of over/under mentions of their doping scandal over the next 2 weeks.

USA! USA! Stars and Stripes represented on the middle of the floor. Always a tingling moment to see them walk in and the watch the excitement on everyone faces.

San Marino representing with a handful of people!

Man do I wish I could figure out how this works? Is it Chronological using the Korean language?

Jamaica coming in with some swagger!

Georgia might have the coolest flag. I’ll have to check in with Sheldon Coopers Fun with Flags.

Czech Republic coming in strong, sporting a big wave from teh collective crowd followed by a swift knee drop.

Canada coming in with a HUGE crowd.

Not sure how I feel about the signs on the trees that announce every country.

Kenya has some nice looking outfits, the blue and yellow looks great.

Turkey coming in with double flags showing that they, above all else, can be ambidextrous.

Tonga!!! THERE HE IS! Shirtless and oiled to a ‘T’ (so much for wearing any clothes for the Winter Olympics). I hope he at least wears a shirt when he skis, frostbite can be a nasty thing.

Portugal sporting some real cool sleeves on their jackets. They are bringing it strong with their outfit choice.

France comes in with some actual recording devices that are not phones with a selfie stick?

Former Yugoslave republic of Macedonia? Ok i’m on board. I hope they get a medal.

Finland. Um Wow. Just wow. That’s a lot to take in between the pants, the hats and the shoes. It makes me a bit dizzy to be honest

Part of me wants to now know the lyrics to these pop songs that are playing. What are they so excited about?

Here comes Korea. Standing ovation time. Decked out in all white, sporting a flag held by two people. Pretty cool moment to see. One guy just got hoisted on some shoulders, the music took a dramatic Top Gun-esque turn, we have a dancing um...bear? tiger? hanging out, lots of flag waving, clapping, proud steps being taken, hugging. This is a heartwarming moment.

A different but nice rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine done.

WOAH We have flares, we have glow sticks, we have snow boarders we are in sync, is this a James Bond movie? This is mind blowing, I am very impressed.

The iconic Olympic flag makes its entrance into the stadium. They are announcing some of the past Korean medalists as they march it in.

The Olympics Anthem and wow does Su-li have a strong voice.

A montage of the Olympic torch making it’s way across the country to the song “let everyone shine”(one of the Pyeongchang Olympic theme songs)

I’ll tell you what. I’ll be DEFINITELY watching this again tonight.
