2018 NFL RODS Power Rankings: Week 13

And the best team in the NFL is...

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Just four more weeks to go in the 2018 regular season and its getting tight at the top of the rankings. The Saints, who had started to establish themselves at the top of the pile were brought back down to earth by the Cowboys on Thursday night. It wasn’t their worst rating of 2018 at -4.3%, but means they no longer have a comfortable lead in the rankings. It was their lowest offensive rating of the season (+3.8%), but was enough to still keep them just ahead of the 2007 Patriots for the best offense I’ve ever graded (+60.9% vs +60.5%).

The Ravens have closed the gap to less than 1.5% as they won their third game in a row and sit as the sixth seed in the AFC playoff race. The Ravens are the only team with a top 10 rating in all three phases in 2018. The Rams eased past the Lions with a +47.1% rating and sit just just 1.4% further back. It was the Rams’ best defensive outing since Week 7, though a season to date defensive rating of -43.0% leaves them as the 22nd rated defense in 2018. The Bears suffered their worst rating of the season for the second week in a row (-17.1%) as they lost for the first time in six weeks, but stay in 4th place.

At the bottom, the Falcons drop back into the bottom three thanks to the joint worst defense in the league that ranks 29th against the pass and dead last against the run. Though the Cardinals enjoyed a shock win on the road in Green Bay, they retain the bottom spot just behind the Raiders, who ran the Chiefs close in a shootout in Oakland but ultimately are hampered by a defense that is tied with the Falcons for the league’s worst.
