2018 NFL RODS Power Rankings: Week 15

And the best team in the NFL is...

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Heading into Monday Night Football, I was set to crown a new leader at the top of the rankings as the Ravens recorded their 4th win in 5 games, posting a +17.1% rating as they beat the Bucs. The Ravens continue to be the only team in the NFL with a top 10 offense (10), defense (3) and special teams (5) and are leaning heavily on a top 5 rushing attack that averages 142 yards per game, second only to the Seahawks (155 ypg). However, the Saints pulled out a win on the road in Carolina, posting a +21.4% rating for a 2018 overall rating of 24.0%. One win over their last two games (home to Pittsburgh and Carolina), would give them the 1 seed in the NFC .

The Bears clinched the NFC North with a win over the Packers and cement their hold on third in the rankings, closing the gap slightly on the teams above them with a +40.0% rating. The Bears have my number one rated overall defense and top both the passing and rushing defenses as well.

The top performance in Week 15 was from the Vikings, who posted their best rating of 2018 with 75.7% against the Dolphins. The Vikings ran for a season high 220 yards against the Dolphins defense, seriously denting Miami’s playoff hopes as they posted the worst rating of 2018 (-85.7%).

At the bottom, the Cardinals have dropped to the bottom of the rankings again after an ugly -60.0% rating in the 40-14 loss to the Falcons. The Falcons remain in the bottom 5 but pass the Jets and Lions as they posted their best rating of the season in the victory (+50.0%), though its too little too late to impact their season.
