Congratulations, if you’re reading this article it must mean your fantasy football team is still relevant going into Week 10. With five weeks left of most fantasy regular seasons, I’ve analysed the Week 10 matchups to find those less than obvious players who can give you the edge in your fantasy lineups this week.
CINCINNATI BENGALS (vs New Orleans Saints)
Tyler Boyd, WR - With AJ Green missing, Boyd steps into the WR1 role and should expect to see an uptick in targets against a Saints defense that gives up the most fantasy points to receivers.
Andy Dalton, QB - Dalton is only the QB18 in fantasy this season, but faces a Saints defense that is 29th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Though he’s only averaging 17.5 fantasy points per game, he has 3 scores of over 20 points and at home is averaging a healthier 19.2 ppg.
ATLANTA FALCONS (@ Cleveland Browns)
Tevin Coleman & Ito Smith, RBs - The Browns are dead last in fantasy rushing points allowed this season and the Smith/Coleman combination are averaging 14 and 8 ppg each over the last 3 weeks. Coleman is a legitimate RB2, with Smith a viable flex starter.
CLEVELAND BROWNS (vs Atlanta Falcons)
Duke Johnson, RB - Johnson had his breakout receiving game in Week 8, catching 9 passes for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Chiefs. He faces a similar match up against the Falcons who give up the 4th most fantasy receiving points to running backs.
David Njoku, TE - Njoku is second in receptions for Cleveland in 2018 and has 2 touchdowns in his last 3 starts. He’s averaging 8 fantasy points in his last 5 starts and against a bottom 5 fantasy receiving defense, is a solid option in Week 10.
Baker Mayfield, QB - This could be Mayfield’s breakout fantasy performance as the Falcons give up the second most points to quarterbacks.
ARIZONA CARDINALS (@ Kansas City Chiefs)
Josh Rosen, QB - Like Baker Mayfield above, signs point to Rosen breaking out against the Chiefs who concede the 6th most points to quarterbacks. The Chiefs’ high-powered offense will mean Rosen will likely see another high volume workload as he has to try to keep up.
Larry Fitzgerald/Christian Kirk, WRs - Based on Rosen needing to throw early and often to keep up with the Chiefs. Both players have seen similar workloads so far this season and are decent flex options this week.
TENNESSEE TITANS (vs New England Patriots )
Marcus Mariota, QB - The Patriots give up the 5th most fantasy points to quarterbacks, and 6th most rushing points. Mariota is coming off his best game of the season last week and should continue his recent upward trend.
Dion Lewis, RB - Revenge game alert! The Patriots give up the second most receiving points to running backs and Lewis has back to back 60+ yard receiving games.
NEW YORK JETS (vs Buffalo Bills)
Elijah McGuire, RB - In his first game of the season last week, McGuire caught 3 passes for 37 yards. With Josh McCown starting, his target share is bound to increase and the Bills are a bottom 10 fantasy defense to receiving backs. Mcguire is currently only owned in 17% of fantasy leagues so what are you waiting for?!
GREEN BAY PACKERS (vs Miami Dolphins)
Aaron Jones, RB - Jones is well owned in fantasy leagues (85%) but against a Dolphins team ranked 27th in rushing points allowed, Jones could be set for his breakout performance of 2018 as the Packers look to right the ship after back-to-back losses.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR - Scantling is on a tear in recent weeks, with an average of 11 fantasy ppg over the past 4 weeks (14.5 ppr ppg). His ownership continues to grow, but he is still available in a third of leagues and faces the 19th rated fantasy pass defense in Week 10.
