Fantasy Hockey Forecaster: November 5th–November 12th

Welcome to this week’s Fantasy Hockey Forecaster! In here, you’ll find:

• Each team’s ranking for goalies, forwards, PK and PP against the other teams in the league. These stats are as of 10/23.
• Three players who are on fire (this might not even be points wise, it might be an uptick in play that signals to me they are on the cusp of some point production
• Three players who are cooling off (this will also include players that aren’t materializing the way we expect)
• Three free agent pickups (among all players under 50% owned, preferably some in the single digits and some that are close to 50 to feed all different sizes of leagues)
• The schedule which will show each team they play and what the individual rankings are for each matchup, this is more useful in the daily leagues where you are looking at individual matchups

3 players who are on fire

1. Ryan O’Reilly (75% owned). 10 points in his last five games to go with 60 faceoffs won.
2. Dylan Larkin (67% owned). 9 points in his last five games to go with 70 faceoffs won, crazy to think Dylan has more faceoff wins than O’Reilly.
3. Gabriel Landeskog (94% owned). He continues to play well with 6 goals, three assists including 3 power play points, 31 faceoffs won and 15 hits in the last two weeks.

3 players who are cooling off

1. Erik Karlsson (100% owned) Still ice cold, 3 assist and -5 among 18 shots. It will come though, just definitely not how many expected this fresh scenario to start.
2. Shayne Gostisbehere (97% owned) 1 assist and a -4 as the Flyers in general have struggled.
3. Nikolaj Ehlers (87% owned). Just 1 goal in the last 2 weeks as he continues to struggle amidst a jets team that is full of scorers.

3 free agent pickups (under 50%)

1. Brock Nelson (10% owned) The Islanders are far from the bottom dweller many expected. Brock is one beneficiary of this as Mathew Barzal is not the star, oh no, it’s Anders Lee, Brock and Josh Bailey who are lighting the lamp.
2. Josh Anderson ( 18% owned) The line of Nick Foligno, Josh and Boone won’t go on forever; they will be streaky. Josh tends to do better in the first half of the year so Josh is a good short term solution.
3. Alex Tuch (20% owned) He is back and has not lost a step, three goals and two assists in his first five games, he’s shooting five shots per game and he has two power play points to his name. Buy in early.
