This is a great week for quarterbacks — 18 solid-to-great options before a steep drop-off. And yes, Fitzmagic is back.

QB ranks - Week 9

Rank Quarterback Team Opponent High-Floor/High-Ceiling QB1s
Rank Quarterback Team Opponent High-Floor/High-Ceiling QB1s
1 Patrick Mahomes KC at CLE The near-matchup-proof QB1.
2 Cam Newton CAR TB A smash spot for Cam, going against the Bucs D.
3 Aaron Rodgers GB at NE He and his arsenal are getting healthier.
4 Drew Brees NO LAR The Rams' D-line will be an issue but their secondary won't.
5 Jared Goff LAR at NO The addition of Eli Apple isn't enough to stop the mind of Sean McVay. Kupp's also likely back.
6 Deshaun Watson HOU at DEN Denver can't stop the deep ball…
7 Tom Brady NE GB Brady in primetime.
8 Kirk Cousins MIN DET Slay's on the outside but Thielen's on the inside.
9 Matt Ryan ATL at WAS The addition of HaHa Clinton-Dix is noteworthy but Ryan should still produce.
10 Matthew Stafford DET at MIN Minnesota's defense is very banged up.
11 Philip Rivers LAC at SEA Rivers should have no issue maintaining QB1 status in Seattle this weekend.
The Low-Floor/High-Ceiling QB1
12 Ryan Fitzpatrick TB at CAR He could be the QB1 -- or he could be benched in the 1st quarter. Play with fire!
High-Floor/High-Ceiling QB2s
13 Ben Roethlisberger PIT at BAL Road Ben only exists in the 1PM ET slot. That's what he gets here.
14 Russell Wilson SEA LAC The Chargers have done a great job stiffling middling quarterbacks. Wilson's lack of volume keeps him as a QB2, even though he's a Top 10 talent.
15 Mitchell Trubisky CHI at BUF It's a tough passing matchup, he's got the rushing floor though.
16 Joe Flacco BAL PIT Flacco smashed the last time they played. PIT has improved on D though.
17 Derek Carr OAK at SF Carr had himself a game last week. He should be able to repeat the performance against Kyle Shanahan and his slightly warm seat.
18 Baker Mayfield CLE KC KC's pass rush has greatly improved. CLE can't keep Baker upright. Freddie Kitchens is promising though. There's reason for optimism.
High-Floor/Capped-Ceiling QB2s
19 C.J. Beathard SF OAK The Oakland Molasses Raiders.
20 Dak Prescott DAL TEN Prescott has been getting it done in the box score over the last two weeks and the 'Boys just replaced their O-Line coach.
21 Case Keenum DEN HOU The promotion of Cortland Sutton should improve Keenum's outlook against the injury-depleted Houston defense.
22 Alex Smith WAS ATL Atlanta's defense is completely broken.
23 Sam Darnold NYJ at MIA The Dolphins defense can be had through the air but Darnold's pass-catching group is pretty banged up.
The Low-Floor/Low-ceiling QB2
24 Marcus Mariota TEN at DAL The Tennessee coaching staff doesn't know what it's doing.
QB3s
25 Brock Osweiler MIA NYJ Amendola will likely find success in the slot -- but that's about it.
26 Nathan Peterman BUF CHI Avoid at all costs.
