More than two weeks ago on August 23rd, the lowly New York Mets beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-2. About 45 minutes after that game ended, Boston finished up a convincing 6-1 win over the Indians in Cleveland.
That’s the last time that either Arizona or Cleveland lost a game this summer. Since then, the Tribe have rattled off 16 straight wins, while the Diamondbacks are right behind, at 13 in a row. It’s incredibly rare in Major League Baseball for there to be two teams with simultaneous win streaks of more than thirteen games – so rare in fact that the last time it happened, William McKinley was president. The MLB Swarm is confident that success continues.

As you can see, that’s a pretty unique results chart for tonight's games. It reflects a couple of different forces in play. As mentioned, we’ve got two teams riding historic winning streaks. We’ve also got what appear to be possible pitching mismatches going on in Washington, Toronto and St. Louis. Finally, we have a newly resurgent Astros team trying to grab as much postseason home field advantage as they can muster. Here’s the game the MLB Swarm called their pick of the week, and it’s the pitching matchup that tells the story.
The high number of predictions rated as “Best Bets” may reflect the swarm’s recent hot streak. But even though we’ve hit some exciting parlays of late, we encourage you to look at all the replays linked in the chart before even thinking of taking any action based on the Swarm's selections.
