Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles had probably the worst Sunday imaginable. According to Adam Schefter, the running back broke his arm and tore his ACL in the same play:
Eagles RB Darren Sproles tore his ACL and broke his arm on same play, sources tell @mortreport and me. Surgery on arm today, knee later.

As Schefter mentioned, Sproles is set to have surgery on his arm today and knee later. Needless to say, his season is over.
While Sproles might not have been the starting running back in Philly, he certainly had a very defined role in the offense. So far this season he’d rushed for 61 yards on 15 carries and had seven receptions for 73 yards.
With Sproles out for the rest of the season, running back Wendell Smallwood will be a very popular name to target on waivers. We caught a glimpse of what he could do Sunday when he saw way more snaps than LeGarrette Blount (40 to Blount’s 22) which is a very good sign in terms of his fantasy value. He finished Sunday with the same number of carries as Blount but for more yards (12 each, 71 yards for Smallwood, 67 for Blount). Smallwood is only owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues so there’s a very, very good chance he’s available.
