Brad Brach, Dexter Fowler, Melky Cabrera, more!

A look at the fantasy performances from September 21, 2017

Derik Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports
  • Brad Brach pitched a scoreless 9th inning to earn a save in an Orioles win over the Rays. He walked 1 and had 1 strikeout. Brach is in line for save opps for the rest of 2017 as Zach Britton appears to be done for the season following his latest injury. Brach has 18 saves this year and a 2.57 ERA.
  • Dexter Fowler was 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles in a Cardinals win over the Reds. He finished with 2 RBI and 2 runs. Fowler went 7 for 13 with 2 HR and 6 RBI in the series against Cincinnati.
  • Melky Cabrera went 3 for 4 with the lone RBI in a Royals 1-0 win over the Blue Jays. Cabrera is hitting .288 this season with 17 HR and 82 RBI. Jason Vargas and the Royals bullpen held the Blue Jays to just 2 hits all night. Vargas allowed both hits while striking out 7 in 6.1 innings of work.
  • Nick Williams was 1 for 5 with a 2-run HR in a Phillies loss to the Dodgers. Williams is hitting .285 with 11 HR and 50 RBI over 74 games this season. Kenley Jansen recorded the final 4 out to nail down the save. He gave up 1 hit and had 1 strikeout in the outing. Jansen now has 39 saves and a 1.25 ERA this season. Fantasy owners beware of Dodgers pitchers down the stretch. Kenta Maeda only went 3 IP and 61 pitches deep in this start. I feel this will be a trend with LA as they look to keep guys fresh for the postseason.
  • Ryan Zimmerman went 1 for 3 with a solo HR in a Nationals loss to the Braves. Zimmerman now has 34 HR 103 RBI and a .302 average in a very impressive comeback season. Tanner Roark took a tough luck loss. He went 7 innings allowing 3 runs with 7 Ks.
