  • Scooter Gennett went 2 for 4 with a 2-run HR in a Reds win over the Mets. He also had an RBI double. Gennett is hitting .287 with 23 HR and 81 RBI this season. Joey Votto had a solo HR in the win as well. Votto has 34 HR 91 RBI and a league leading .448 OBP.
  • Jose Altuve was 2 for 4 with a solo HR in a Astros win over the Rangers. He also had 2 runs scored. Altuve leads baseball with a .355 batting average. He also has 21 HR 89 runs scored and 29 SB. Ken Giles pitched 2 innings in route to his 27th save of the season. He had 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Giles now has a 2.44 ERA 0.99 WHIP and 68 Ks over 51.2 IP this year.
  • Kenta Maeda had a tough day in an outing against the Diamondbacks. He allowed 7 runs on 8 hits in just 3 innings of work. Maeda had a 2.76 ERA in August coming into this start but was hit around pretty well in this one. Plus, Clayton Kershaw and Alex Wood both returning this weekend, the Dodgers rotation will again be a crowded one.
  • Kendrys Morales had a huge night in a Blue Jays win over the Orioles. He went 4 for 5 with 3 HR and 7 RBI! He also had 4 runs scored. Morales is hitting .254 on the season with 25 HR and 70 RBI after his big night. For the Os, Adam Jones and Chris Davis each went 2 for 5 with a home run. They also both finished with 2 runs and 2 RBI.
  • CC Sabathia pitched around 4 hits and 5 walks to best the Red Sox. The Yankees starter allowed just 1 run over 6 innings of work while striking out 6. The 37-year-old has put together 3 quality starts in a row. He is 11-5 on the year with a 3.71 ERA.
