  • Corey Kluber went the distance in a win over the Rockies. Kluber tossed 9 innings allowing just 1 run with 11 strikeouts. This was his 2nd straight complete game and his 5th straight start with at least 11 Ks. This is also his 13th straight game with at least 8 Ks. He’s good.
  • Chris Sale is pretty good too. Sale went 8 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits while striking out 13. This is his 15th game this season with double digit strikeouts. The 1st time that has happened since 2002. Speaking of strikeouts, Craig Kimbrel struck out all 3 batters he faced in route to his 28th save of the year. Kimbrel has now struck out an incredible 50% of the batters he has faced!
  • Joey Gallo was 2 for 4 with a solo HR in a Rangers loss to the Mets. Gallo also doubled and had 2 RBI. He now has 31 HR on the season. He is hitting .295 with 10 HR since July 19. Michael Conforto was 1 for 2 with a solo HR and 2 runs scored. He also walked twice. Conforto is hitting .293 with 23 HR and a .397 OBP.
  • Giancarlo Stanton went 1 for 4 with a 3-run HR in a Marlins win over the Nationals. Stanton now leads all of baseball with 38 HR this season. He has 83 RBI and 83 runs scored this year as well. Vance Worley held the Nats to just 1 run over 6 innings of work. He has held Washington to just 1 run over his past 13 IP. Because, baseball!
  • Josh Donaldson was 2 for 4 with a pair of 2-run homers in a Blue Jays win over the Yankees. Donaldson now has 15 HR and 40 RBI this season. J.A. Happ pitched around 4 walks and 4 hits allowed to give up just 1 run in 5.2 innings of work. He had 5 strikeouts in the win. Roberto Osuna pitched a perfect 9th inning for the save. He now has 29 saves to go with his 0.86 WHIP on the year.
