  • Justin Verlander pitched great in a win over the Dodgers. The Tigers ace went 8 innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 9. He improved to 9-8 with a 3.96 ERA. Justin Upton was 1 for 4 with a 2-run HR. He is hitting .282 on the year with 26 HR and 90 RBI.
  • Blake Snell held the Mariners in check on Sunday. The Rays starter threw 7 scoreless innings with 8 Ks. He allowed just 2 hits and walked 2. Snell has been inconsistent and mostly bad ealry on in his career. Perhaps this outing is a sign of things to come. Steven Souza Jr. went hitless but did manage 2 steals. He has 11 SB on the year to go with 26 HR and 73 RBI.
  • An Eddie Rosario grand slam capped off a 9 run 1st inning for the Twins in a 12-5 win over the Diamonbacks. Rosario finished 2 for 5 in the game. He is batting .303 with 15 HR and 50 RBI on the season. Brian Dozier was 1 for 2 with a solo home run. He also drew 3 walks and had 3 runs scored. Dozier has 25 HR 68 RBI and 69 runs this season.
  • Gio Gonzalez continue his impressive 2017 with a win at the Padres. Gonzalez went 6.2 innings allow 1 unearned run while striking out 8. He is now 12-5 on the year with a 2.39 ERA. Sean Doolittle struck out the side in the 9th to nail down the save. Doolittle has 2.40 ERA and 11 saves with the Nationals.
  • Rick Porcello held the Yankees to 3 hits and 1 run over 6 innings of work. He had 4 strikeouts in the winning effort. Porcello has held the Yankees to 2 or fewer runs in all 6 starts against them at Fenway Park. Brett Gardner was the lone bright spot for New York. He was 2 for 4 with a solo HR and a stolen base. Gardner has 20 HR and 16 SB this season.
