There is no better tight end in both fantasy and real football than a healthy Rob Gronkowski.
Everyone knows that.
As such, if you want to get Gronk on your team, you often have to spend a second or maybe even a first round pick to get him. Almost always, the investment pays off big time. In 2015, Gronk played 15 games, scored 184 total points, led all tight ends and was the ninth best fantasy player via total points. He did the exact same thing in 2014, finishing number one tight end and 11th overall.
However, Gronk has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career. Last year he only played eight games and racked up a meager 72 total fantasy points, 22nd among tight ends. Not exactly the performance you’d want from someone you took in the second round.
Injuries will always be part of the gamble with Gronk. Basically, if he plays double digit games, he’ll finish TE1 or TE2. If he plays under 10 games, which he’s done twice, he’ll fall out of top-10 tight ends all together. I’m curious to see how much of Gronk you all think is worth a second round pick.
Poll
Assuming Gronk won’t play a full season this year, what is the minimum number of games he needs to play for you to be ok investing a 2nd round pick in him?
