What: Wyndham Championship
When: August 17th -€” 20th
Where: Sedgefield Country Club
2016 Winner: Kim Si-woo (-21)
Purse: $5.8MM (Winner - $1MM)

Course
: Sedgefield Country Club. Established in 1926, this 7,120 yard par 70 course was designed by Donald Ross. It is fairly open featuring some thicker roughs and rolling hills. The generous space must be used, if players wonder off too much, they will need a weed Wacker to get their ball out. You will see from past winners that staying with what's in front of you can yield great scores through as the winner last year had a -21 (the two previous years it was -17 and -17).

A Golfer.
Bill Haas. Rough recent patch with 4 straight finishes worse than 25th inclusive of a missed cut but Sedgefield is where he can come back down to earth. He finished 22nd here last year, 6th in 2015, 2nd in 2014 and 20th in 2013.

B Golfers:
Kevin Kisner. 7th at the PGA Championship and 28th at the World Golf Championships -€” Bridgestone Invitational. He finished 10th here last year and 8th in 2014. Kevin is on the list of golfers who could be a first time major champion next year. He ended this year making all four cuts finished 43rd at the Masters, 58th at the US Open and 54th at the Open Championship before a 7th place finish at the PGA Championship. If you look at his scores through the first two majors he came in strong Thursday and Friday before faltering on Saturday and Sunday. The last two he started to come in stronger on Saturday and Sunday, he's gaining poise and durability.  7th on the tour in strokes gained total.

Webb Simpson. Top 40 finishes in 5 tournaments straight. Top 25 finishes in 5 of his last 10 tournaments. He had a 72nd finish here last year but finished 6th in 2015, 5th in 2014 and 11th in 2013. 24th on the tour in strokes gained tee to green.

C Golfer.
Byeong Hun An. 16th in strokes gained off the tee and 16th in strokes gained tee to green, Byeong Hun has a bit of a mixed bag over his last 10 tournaments: 2 top 10 finishes (5 top 30 finishes), 3 missed cuts and 2 in between 40-70. He finished 18th here two years ago and should have a better chance than not at a top 30 finish.

Dark Horse:
Jason Dufner. 48th in strokes gained off the tee, 16th in strokes gained approaching the green and 25th in strokes gained total. He also has a mixed last 10 tournaments with 5 top 15 finishes, two missed cuts and 3 in between 50-70. I like to think Jason enjoys the perks of winning a hotel based tournament as he lounges back with a nice drink. He finished 22nd here last year, 51st in 2015 and 7th in 2012.

Current Stats on picks so far this season:

C Golfers: Avg finish: 51st (38th percentile)
Sleepers: Avg finish 48th (35th percentile)

Fun Fact: Sam Snead won here 8 times as it was previously known as the Greater Greensboro Open.
