- Joey Gallo continued to crush the baseball in a Rangers win over the Mets. Gallo went 1 for 2 with with a 2-run HR and also drew 3 walks. Gallo is now 10 for 27 with 7 home runs in just 8 games this month. All he does is hit home runs! Elvis Andrus was 0 for 6 but did manage to record 2 steals in the win. Andrus is hitting .292 with 15 HR and 22 SB this season.
- Charlie Blackmon went 3 for 6 with a solo HR in a Rockies extra inning win over the Indians. He has now homered in his 2nd straight game. Blackmon has 27 HR and a .333 average this year. His batting average is 3rd highest in baseball and he also leads the league with 102 runs scored. Trevor Bauer tossed 7 innings of 1 run ball in route to a no decision. He had 9 strikeouts in the outing. This is his 3rd straight start with at least 7 innings and just 1 run allowed.
- Nelson Cruz went 2 for 4 with a pair of home runs in a Mariners win over the Athletics. Cruz would finish with 3 RBI. He now has 26 HR and 88 RBI on the season. Khris Davis had a solo HR in the loss. Davis has 31 HR and 80 RBI this year.
- Ryan Zimmerman went off on the Marlins in a 10-1 win for the Nationals. Zimmerman went 4 for 4 with 2 homers and a double. He finished with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored. Zimmerman has cooled from his amazing 1st half but still has 26 HR 81 RBI and a .310 average. Gio Gonzalez tossed 7 innings of 1 run ball with 6 Ks. He improves to 10-5 on the year with a 2.59 ERA.
- Madison Bumgarner tossed 7 innings allowing 1 run with 7 strikeouts in a win over the Cubs. The Giants ace has a 2.52 ERA in 5 starts since returning from the DL following his dirt bike accident earlier this season. He also has a 1.38 ERA in his past 4 outings. Despite the great pitching, Bumgarner is 2-5 on the year due to low run support. Don’t expect that to change but don’t be too worried about it when he pitches as well as he did on Wednesday.
