Daily Fantasy MLB picks for Wednesday, July 5

Gary Sanchez is a must own today.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Full docket of games today (15) scattered from 1:05pm -10:10pm The highest of the pitchers is Jacob DeGrom  ($10,900) who will face the Washington Nationals

Weather (as of now):
Miami at St. Louis is looking dodgy as is NY Mets at Washington. Scattered thunderstorms may threaten both games.

Target: Sonny Gray ($8,600)

  1. The White Sox apparently can't hit righties.
  2. 3 ER or less in 5 of his last 6 starts.
  3. At home he has only allowed more than 3 ER in 1 start and it was against MLB best Houston Astros.

Stack Against: Marco Estrada Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees

  1. 3 Yankees players have multiple home runs against him in 30 or fewer at bats.
  2. He is clearly struggling with his pitches this year, something is off.

Two Hitters I like:

  • Gary Sanchez ($3,700) he is the most expensive catcher but he also has 4 home runs over 8 AB vs. Marco Estrada!!!
  • Albert Pujols ($2,700) he has a career 2 HR with 6 RBI over 12 AB vs. Ervin Santana, at this price it's a steal.

Two Hitters I'd avoid:

  • Josh Donaldson ($3,600) he has a poor track record against Pineda but more importantly he's not starting.
  • Anthony Rendon ($3,000) not a single hit against Jacob DeGrom over 16 AB.

Sample Lineup

Gary Sanchez (C )
Albert Pujols (1B)
Rougned Odor (2B)
Didi Gregorius (SS)
Nick Castellanos (3B)
Aaron Judge (OF)
Maalex Smith (OF)
Ben Zobrist (OF)
