In case you missed it:
Source: Sonny Gray will be traded to the Yankees.

Sonny Gray of the Oakland Athletics was dealt to the New York Yankees for 3 minor league prospects. What does this do to his fantasy value?
Gray is the #63 pitcher in fantasy this season but he missed all of April. Gray has been the #23 pitcher over the past 30 days and this has done more for his value than this trade in my eyes. Gray is 8-8 with a 3.43 ERA and 8.7 K/9 on the season. The increase in the strikeouts (a career 7.7 K/9) has been a welcoming sight. Over his last 6 starts, Gray has a 1.37 ERA 0.81 WHIP and an 8.24 K/9.
This trade does help his win projections. The Yankees are a far better supporting cast than the Athletics. The ballpark and division are a negative for Gray in this swap but the fact that he is primarily a ground ball pitcher does temper some of those worries. The increased K rate also helps.
Sonny Gray has been moving up steadily in my rest of season rankings and will continue to do so with this move. He is currently SP #32 and I project I’ll have him around SP #20-25 came this Friday’s update.
