Mike Clevinger is paving the way to become Cleveland's next ace

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Full docket of games today (15) scattered from 7:05pm -10:15pm The highest of the pitchers is Clayton Kershaw ($12,700) who will face the Chicago White Sox where two players (Jose Abreu and Melky Cabrera) both have home runs against him in fewer than 10 AB.

Weather (as of now):
Scattered Thunderstorms at Pittsburgh and Boston today put question marks on both of those 7:00pm matchups, everything else looks good.

Target: Mike Clevinger ($8,800) at San Francisco
1. In his last 5 starts he has given up a COMBINED 5 ER.
2. In his last 3 starts he has gone at least 6IP in each outing.
3. In his last 3 starts he has struck out 20 batters for an average of over 1 per inning pitched.
4. San Francisco has scored the 3rd fewest runs in the league.

Stack Against: Edwin Jackson at LAA
1. Late night, cross county game are tough no matter who you are.
2.Edwin has struckout 1 or less in all three starts and allowed a home run in 2 of his 3 starts.
3. This is his first outing as a starter, I'm not sure if I'm sold.

Two Hitters I like:

  • Travis Shaw ($3,800) across 10 at bats against Ivan Nova, Travis has a blistering 2 home runs, 5 RBI's and a .700 average!!
  • Mike Zunino ($2,600) not only does he have 3 runs and 3 RBI's across his last 3 games but he has 2 Home Runs and 5 RBI's across 9 AB against Brad Peacock.

Two Hitters I'd avoid:

  • Xander Bogaerts ($3,300) he's hit a bit of a slump and today he faces JA Happ who he has an atrocious .063 batting average across 16 AB against.
  • Jackie Bradley Jr ($2,900) -€” doubling down on Boston players, Jackie is batting .100 to go along with 6 games and only 1 run to show for it. Jackie is notoriously streaky and is clearly in a slump now.

Sample Lineup
Mike Zunino (C  )
Mike Napoli (1B)
Scooter Gennett (2B)
Andrelton Simmons (SS)
Travis Shaw (3B)
Christian Yelich (OF)
Mike Trout (OF)
Delino Deshields (OF)

I will look to make adjustments as we get closer and see who is starting.
