Blake Snell, Matt Moore and more streaming options for Monday, 5/8/17

New, comment

Matt Moore will be facing the left-handed power hitting Mets, so look to take advantage of the southpaws match up on Monday.

Blake Snell vs. Kansas City Royals (18.0% Owned)

2017: 31.1 IP, 3.45 ERA, 4.94 FIP, 7.76 K/9, 6.03 BB/9, 1.15 HR/9, .227 AVG
Career vs. Active Royals: N/A
Career @ Kauffman Stadium: N/A

Monday will mark the first time Snell will pitch against the Royals in his career. The Royals have been the worst offensive team this year. Over their 1055 PA they have hit a pitiful .600 OPS. Snell should also have success at Kauffman stadium today as only 3 Royals players have a batting average over .250 when they play at home.

Matt Moore @ New York Mets (38.7% Owned)

2017: 33.1 IP, 6.75 ERA, 5.40 FIP, 7.56 K/9, 3.78 BB/9, 1.89 HR/9, .277 AVG
Career vs Active Mets: .200/.292/.375, 1 HR, 46 PA
Career @ Citi Field: N/A

Moore has absolutely dominated Mets’ hitters in the past. They are only hitting .200 against him over his career, and the one home run that was hit off him was by Cespedes so fantasy owners should not be too worried. The Mets are a very heavy left-handed hitting lineup, so when there is a good left-hander on the mound against them I usually look to take advantage.

Kendall Graveman vs. Los Angeles Angels (39.4% Owned)

2017: 27.1 IP, 3.95 ERA, 4.61 FIP, 5.65 K/9, 2.53 BB/9, 1.07 HR/9, .238 AVG
Career vs. Active Angels: .308/.344/.473, 5 HR, 155 PA
Career @ O.Co Coliseum: .261/.312/.394, 18 HR, 664 PA

I do not have a whole lot of faith in this pick, but he seems to be the best third option to stream today. I thought about putting Gausman on the list, but he is facing a very hot Nationals’ lineup today with the likes of Daniel Murphy, Bryce Harper, and Ryan Zimmerman. Graveman is a pitch to contact pitcher, so as long as he can produce soft contact like he has over his career he should come out with a W.

Dreamers

Trevor Williams @ Los Angeles Dodgers (0.4% Owned)

2017: 11.2 IP, 5.40 ERA, 5.31 FIP, 7.71 K/9, 5.40 BB/9, 1.54 HR/9, .261 AVG
Career vs. Active Dodgers: N/A
Career @ Dodger Stadium: N/A

Williams has really struggled since getting called up last year. Over 24.1 innings, opponents have averaged 2.22 HR/9. Williams has also struggled with his command by walking 4.44 batter per nine innings.. I would look for this trend to continue as he goes up against a very good Dodgers lineup on Monday.
