  • Ervin Santana was lights out tossing a complete game 2 hit shutout against the Orioles. Santana had 6 strikeouts in the game as well. Santana has kept his hot start going longer than many believed. He now owns a 1.80 ERA and 0.83 WHIP and the season. Dylan Bundy was solid in the loss. He went 7 innings with 7 Ks and allowed 2 runs.
  • The Nationals offense pounded the Mariners in a 10-1 victory. Anthony Rendon was 3 for 4 with 2 homers and 5 RBI. Another monster game from him gives him 7 HR and 28 RBI on the season. Joe Ross made his return to the majors with 8 innings of 1 run ball. He struck out 6 in the winning effort.
  • Jordan Montgomery pitched well over 6.2 innings but the Yankees bullpen blew the lead and would fall 6-2 to the Royals. Montgomery allowed just 2 hits and 1 runs in the outing with 6 Ks. Danny Duffy picked up the win going 7 innings while giving up 2 runs and getting 7 strikeouts. Duffy has put together a sting of good starts recently.
  • Jon Lester pitched like an ace on Tuesday. He tossed a complete game allowing just 1 run while getting 10 Ks. Lester now has a 3.19 ERA for the year. He was backed up by homers from Anthony Rizzo, Jason Heyward, and Kyle Schwarber. Johnny Cueto went 6 innings with 8 strikeouts but the 4 HR allowed cost the Giants the win as they fall to the Cubs 4-1.
  • Cameron Maybin and Mike Trout went back-to-back with solo shots to give the Angels a quick 2-0 lead over the Rays. Matt Shoemaker would do the rest as the Halos beat Tampa Bay by a final of 4-0. Shoemaker went 6.1 scoreless innings allowing just 3 hits with 5 Ks. He has a 1.45 ERA with 21 Ks in his last 3 starts.
