NBA DFS value pick for April 4

Here’s one player you can get at a bargain in daily fantasy.

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

Starting today, I will post one NBA daily fantasy value pick for each slate of games. Disclaimer: I cannot predict the future, so some of these will not pan out.

Pick: Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot

Fanduel price: $4,200

Draftkings price: $5,100

Opponent: Brooklyn Nets

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot was born the day before me. That’s not relevant to this post, but still pretty cool fun fact.

The rookie from France has been balling recently. In the last four games, he’s averaging 16.0 points and 6.3 rebounds in 36 minutes.

Remember the Miracle quote, “Great moments are born from great opportunity”? Always keep that in mind when building a daily fantasy team. It should catch your eye when someone receiving serious playing time is priced so low. Since Robert Covington went down with a torn meniscus, coach Brent Brown has been leaning heavily on Timothe, who’s attempted a season-high 15 shots in each of the last two outings. He’s got the green light. The opportunity is there. The great moment awaits.

Brooklyn has actually been playing well lately, but they still have the 29th ranked defense in the league. Luwawu-Cabarrot hung 17 points (four 3PM), 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal on them when the 76ers visited Barclays a week ago. Similar production at $5,100 or less would be a steal. I’m rolling with him.
