- The Mets had a rough day. First, starter Noah Syndergaard was scratched from his start. He could return as soon as Sunday though. Then, Matt Harvey, filling in for Syndergaard, had a poor outing against the Braves (4.1IP 6ER 5BB). To cap it off, during that contest, All-Star outfielder Yoenis Cespedes reaggravated his hamstring injury. He’s set to undergo an MRI on Friday. He is likely to hit the DL. Michael Conforto should benefit from his absence.
- The Nationals offense really enjoyed their 4 game set at Coors Field. The most recent display was a 16-5 win on Thursday. Adam Eaton, Daniel Murphy, and Bryce Harper all went deep in the contest. Both Murphy and Harper finished with 3 RBI. Gio Gonzalez moved to 3-0 by pitching 6.2 innings while allowing 2 runs and getting 5 Ks. He now has a 1.62 ERA on the year.
- Matt Moore was great against the Dodgers. He went 7 innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 8. The lefty gets the Dodgers again in his next outing. Corey Seager celebrated his 23rd birthday with a solo shot in the 1st inning. Seager is hitting .318 with 5 HR and 17 RBI on the season.
- Masahiro Tanaka was excellent in the Yankees 3-0 win over the Red Sox. Tanaka threw a complete game 3-hit shutout. He only had 3 Ks but his fantasy owners won’t complain with this outing. His opposition, Chris Sale, was great in the loss. Sale went 8 innings allowing 8 hits, 2 earned runs, and got 10 strikeouts.
- The Cardinals won both games of their double header against the Blue Jays. Matt Carpenter played hero in game 1 with a walk-off grand slam. Carpenter finished the day going a combined 2 for 8 with 6 RBI. Dexter Fowler had a solid day for the Red Birds as well. Fowler went a combined 5 for 9 and scored 4 runs. He went deep for the 3rd time this season during the 2nd inning of game 2.
