Fantasy Auto Racing: Toyota Owners 400

Trevor Bayne could sneak into the top 10. He is having a great season.

What: Toyota Owners 400
When: April 30th
Where: Richmond International Raceway
2016 Winner: Carl Edwards

I will follow Yahoo's Fantasy Auto Racing where you pick 2 A Racers, 4 B Racers and 2 C Racers. As such I will pick one from A, 2 from B and 1 from C (as if they were your starters) along with one Dark Horse pick.

Man what a race last week - delayed until Monday, the lead changes, the sheer briefness of each lap down the final ten laps, the big win for Jimmie Johnson, time for another short track!

Track: Richmond International Raceway. At 0.75 miles this asphalt track is among the older on the circuit (1946). It runs on the shorter side (much like Bristol) meaning there will be trading paint and anyone can emerge. It is interesting amongst the many oval shaped courses as this one is more of a "D". It's banks run 14 degrees at the highest with an 8 degree tilt on the front and 2 degrees on the back.

A.
Kyle Busch. As tempting as Brad Keslowski and Joey Logano are given their great 2017 campaigns, none of them have won 4 times here (hint: Kyle has 2009-2012). It's been a few years but he hasn't lost his touch here. 3rd in 2014, 2nd in 2016, he knows this track inside and out and should be a top 5 lock.

B:
Ryan Newman. I really want to pick Kyle Larson here but it's time I start conserving those starts as I think he's going to be a long stay at the top 3 on the leaderboard. Ryan has no wins but 4 top ten finishes here. Last 2 years were a so-so (18th and 11th) but his performances in 2017 have been promising: 4 of his last 5 races have netted top 15 finishes.

Kasey Kahne. My track record with Kahne picks has not been stellar this year. I think he's finished 20th or worse in 65% of my picks. Not anymore! He finished 4th here last year and 6th in 2015. He needs to get his season back on track and this is a top 15 finish to help it on it's way, after all this is the home of his first career victory.

C.
Ty Dillon. He has 4 top 20 finishes in his last 5 races, if I can get that out of my C- Racer than I am ecstatic. Ty Dillon, Daniel Suarez and Eric Jones have been a great corp of up and coming rookies this year.

Dark Horse.
Trevor Bayne. He is the best driver only have one top ten finish this season. To go along with that 10th place finish he has a 11th, 12th and three 13th place finishes. He has been consistent and above average.
