MLB DFS picks for Saturday, April 22

Watch out for these match ups on April 22 for your DFS.

MLB: Cleveland Indians at Minnesota Twins Jordan Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Pitcher to Target: Kenta Maeda vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Maeda will be facing a Diamondbacks roster that has hit .204/.267/.323 against him over 93 plate appearances. Ahmed and Lamb both have a home run against Maeda, but fantasy owners should not let that worry them too much. This year Maeda has an awful 7.07 ERA, but his 4.56 FIP shows us that this high ERA will be dropping dramatically . The reason his ERA is so high this season is because his GB/FB is down 0.6 from what it was last year. As long as Maeda can produce ground balls like he did last year, this should be a great match up for fantasy owners.

Pitcher to Stack Against: Matt Boyd vs. Minnesota Twins’ Power Hitters

I will start off by saying that I would be surprised if Boyd comes out of Saturday’s game without giving up at least one home run. Obviously Dozier and Sano are good options against a pitcher who has a career 0.74 GB/FB and constantly gives up hard hit balls, but the best player to grab Saturday may be their outfielder Robbie Grossman. Grossman has hit .556/.693/1.333 with 2 home runs over 11 plate appearances against Boyd over his career. Boyd looks to be the same type of pitchers he was in 2016, so expect Grossman’s dominance against Boyd to continue on Saturday. Twins’ hitters have only hit .167/.200/.354 against Boyd when he pitches at their home stadium, so do not expect a complete blowout. The Twins still have hit 3 home runs against him at Target Field, so make sure to keep an eye out for the long ball.
