Well yesterday’s picks did not go well! I am going to try again today with a different strategy today. Yesterday I took a strategy of matchups and they did not pan out. Last year, Wade Miley allowed a .333 average and a 7.20 ERA to right handed bats. That seemed like a juicy matchup to take advantage of, yet he shut down the Reds all night. I feel most nights that statistical matchups will give me solid lineups, but last night was not one of them.
Pitcher to Start – Wily Peralta SP MIL ($7,700)
I think this is great value for Peralta. I would not have felt this way a year ago, but today I do. He is currently 3-0 and has scored at least 25 points in every outing. I’m not saying Peralta will throw 8 shutout innings tonight against STL, however, I do feel that he will put together a quality start that gives you points at a discounted price to stack your lineup with top bats you normally couldn’t roster.
