- The Texas Rangers placed struggling closer Sam Dyson on the DL. It appears Matt Bush will be the arm to grab for Rangers saves. He should be a solid source of Ks as well. Jeremy Jeffress is another option for Texas. He has closer experience and could see save chances when Bush isn't available or if Bush struggles.
- Red Sox rookie Andrew Benintendi led the way in his team’s 4-3 win over the Rays. Benintendi was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. He is hitting .314 on the season and continues to be a major player in Boston’s offense.
- The Yankees keep winning and their offense keep producing. Aaron Judge was 2 for 4 with a 2-run HR. He would finish with 3 RBI on the night. The 6’7’’ slugger is hitting .275 with 4 HR and 11 RBI on the season. In addition to Judge, Jacoby Ellsbury (.329), Starlin Castro (.365), and Chase Headley (.395) are all off to hot starts in 2017.
- Freddie Freeman was flawless at the plate going 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs. He's hitting an even .400 on the season with 5 homers. It should be noted that he only has 6 RBI. Let's get some men on base for Freeman, huh Atlanta?!?!
- The Astros shutout the Angels 3-0. Charlie Morton was solid in a winning effort with 5 innings of work allowing 5 hits with 2 BB and 3 K. The combination of Chris Devenski, Luke Gregerson, and Ken Giles pitched 4 perfect innings to finish the shutout. Gregerson and Giles still have ERAs over 7.00 but appear to be coming back to form.
