NBA DFS value pick for April 17

Here’s one player you can get at a bargain in daily fantasy.

NBA: Playoffs-Indiana Pacers at Cleveland Cavaliers David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday’s pick was a failure. No way around this one. I was up all night trying to think of a valid excuse, but came up empty. Trevor Ariza just didn’t get the job done; and I now have a losing record (5-6). Not ideal.

But I can’t hang my head. Time to bounce back.

Pick: Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson

FanDuel price: $4,700

DraftKings price: $4,500

Opponent: Indiana Pacers

Tristan wakes up every morning and eats rebounds for breakfast.

In five meetings with the Pacers (including Game 1), TT has grabbed at least nine boards. Indiana struggled on the inside all year, ranking 26th in rebounds per game and 22nd in opponent offensive rebounds per game (this is kind of Thompson’s thing, if you didn’t know).

If the big man can catch a few lobs and swat a few shots for the Cavs, we’re in business. He exceeded value on Saturday, and continues to be priced pretty low. Let’s ride.
