Position Overview

Arguably the best position for fantasy goodness in 2017, shortstop is loaded with 7 players at the position ranked inside the top 40 overall by ECR. This doesn’t even include Trea Turner, who will be the starting SS for the Nationals and will, in turn, gain eligibility at the position very early in the year. Look for this trend to continue in the coming seasons as the average age of my top 10 is just 24! Add in potential breakouts like Dansby Swanson (23), Javier Baez (24), and Jose Peraza (22) and you can certainly understand my excitement. Even the busts I have listed I would be perfectly fine drafting. The only reason I have them listed are because I feel they are being drafting far too high. Look to grab multiple SS eligible players in all your drafts this season. They make great options for your middle infielder and a lot of them are eligible to plug and play at different spots once your roster is complete. There is certainly no shortage of shortstops.

Check back tomorrow for a look at third base! See you then and thanks for the read.
