Weekly NHL Forecaster 2/13-2/19

Sean Couturier has a new line mate, could that boost his numbers on the trip through Canada?

Weekly NHL Forecaster 2/13 - 2/19

Below is the average of ‘CORSI For per 60 minutes' on the Home team and Away team to tell me if this is going to be a shot filled matchup. The graph below is sorted from the most offensively oriented games to the least offensively oriented. To put it in a nutshell, if you want goals scored -€” look at the top teams, if you want to see where your goalie will be seeing few shots and have the best opportunity look to the bottom. Updated as of 12/28/2016

Ten Notes:
1. Colorado Avalanche. On the surface it looks like a good matchup, sure it's four games on the road but it's against four teams who are all in the lower half of the league in standings, but 2 of the four are over .500 over their last ten (Buffalo and NJ) and another one (Carolina) has been playing quite well.

2. Calgary Flames. They have two home games against Arizona and Philadelphia before a road matchup against Vancouver. Sam Bennett (11% owned) has been cold lately so maybe this will be a chance for him to heat up a bit.

3. Tampa Bay. They have been spiraling downward but a chance for redemption lies in a week where they face two teams that have gone a combined 5-12-3 over their last 10 games each.

4. New York Islanders. They are on the road for two -€” Toronto and New Jersey and home for two -€” New York and New Jersey. With maybe the exception of Toronto this will be a tough stretch for a team that has regained it's traction as of late.

5. Nashville Predators. It finds a similar Minnesota that we saw from a month ago but a vastly different Blue Jackets team. Both games being on the road adds to the complexity of this.

6. Florida Panthers. They might have the biggest challenge this week as they spend the whole week on the California coast against San Jose, Anaheim and LA who are 16-6-3 over their last 10 games.

7. Philadelphia Flyers. A road trip through Canada but the favorable kind. At Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, three teams who are not very good (Edmonton is not very good at home). They are experimenting Sean Couturier 4% owned alongside Jakub Voraceck, could boost his numbers

8. Montreal Canadiens. One game, not worth it if you have to lock in a player for the whole week.

9. Boston Bruins. Same as above but add in that the game is on the opposite coast against potentially the strongest team in the league right now.

10. San Jose -€” They get Florida, Arizona, and Boston and are already on a streak right now.
