The Patriots offense got manhandled Monday night against the Dolphins and much of it had to do with a lack of receiving options. It seems the team has quickly addressed that issue:
The #Patriots are signing WR Kenny Britt to a 2-year deal that locks him in through 2018, source said. This was his top landing spot.

The Patriots have been thin at receiving options all season and Monday night was particularly bad with Rob Gronkowski serving his one game suspension.
Kenny Britt didn’t do all that much in Cleveland before being released, catching only 18 balls for 233 and a pair of touchdowns. However, he does bring some size to a receiving core that is notoriously under 5-foot-10, standing at 6-foot-3. So that’s something.
I’ll be curious to see what the 29-year-old receiver can do given the Patriots seem to either given veteran receivers new life (see: Moss, Randy) or they chew them up and spit them out in a matter of a couple of games (see: Ochocinco Johnson, Chad & Wayne, Reggie). For fantasy purposes, I wouldn’t be rushing to add Britt right now. Most likely he doesn’t really muster much of an impact on the team and in fantasy. Don’t go thinking you’re about to stumble upon a gem that’s going to fix your team’s struggles.
He’s worth monitoring, but not worth picking up right now.
