NFL Picks: Week 13

A four-way tie happened last week, with Ghoji, Paddi, Matias, and JEB leading the pack at 12-4 apiece. Pete and Mark had 11-5 scores, while yours truly and Clark brought up the rear with 10-6 marks. Updated rankings are below, followed by this week’s picks.

It seems like a the theme of Week 13 is “quarterback carousel,” with the most notable change being the benching of Eli Manning for Geno Smith. The Raiders would appear to be a slam-dunk pick against the GMen, except that Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle) is unlikely to play and Michael Crabtree (suspension) is definitely out. Against the Giants, I expect Jared Cook to be a chalky play in your DFS lineups this weekend.

Gone is Ryan Fitzpatrick for the Buccaneers, as Jameis Winston will make his return from a shoulder injury. It is difficult to get excited about him, though, as he fared poorly before the injury and is on the road to Green Bay. Brett Hundley was also much improved his last time out against a stingy Pittsburgh defense—I expect him to be just fine at home this week.

Jay Cutler returns from a concussion for Miami, which renders Matt Moore (and Kenny Stills?) obsolete. In the same game, Trevor Siemian regains the helm for Denver as Paxton Lynch is out with an ankle injury.

The massively obvious an amazing news this week is the return of Josh Gordon, who the vast majority of the fantasy community is rooting for, as they should be. We don’t often get to see stories of redemption in today’s messed up world. It sure would be nice to see Gordon make it all the way back and begin injecting that Cleveland franchise with a little bit of swagger. We shall see.

Everyone is picking Washington tonight with the exception of Matias, who is on the Cowboys. Being out on a ledge has not been kind to us this season, so good luck way out there, Mat. Other “ledge” picks include IND (Clark), TB (Ghoji), CAR (me), and NYG (Ghoji). Ghoji has been slaying it all year, so the two ledge picks concern me a tad, but I feel pretty solid picking against the Giants this weekend.
