Odell Beckham Jr. is likely out for the season

A broken ankle is likely sending OBJ to injured reserve.

We feel the same way, OBJ. Hurry back.

Odell Beckham Jr. was carted off the field in the third quarter on Sunday after attempting to make a catch against Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward.

Jordan Raanan (Giants ESPN NFL Nation reporter) initially said OBJ was headed for surgery, then said that the Giants are holding off on surgery for now.

Dr. Jene Bramel, prominent fake football doctor (and real-life doc) stated that he “cannot see any chance of Beckham returning to play” this year.

***Update: The New York Giants acknowledged that OBJ suffered a fractured ankle.***

My early thoughts are that we should look to Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram to soak up the future targets in New York. The Giants actually ran the ball today, but I expect them to have to throw (much like Arizona) to keep the ball moving this year. Also, they do not play the pitiful Chargers run defense every week, so let’s all chill with the Wayne Gallman excitement.

Note: Sterling Shepard (ankle) and Brandon Marshall (sprained ankle) both suffered injuries today as well, though we will need to wait to see the severity.

Stay tuned to this situation, but for now it appears that OBJ will no longer be a fantasy force this year. This is a crushing way to end a Sunday. I hope Eli is ready to do more scrambling.
