Plus, how to fix an 0-4 team.

Welcome to the Fake Teams’ fantasy football mailbag. It’s a quick one this week, talking Thursday night football, how to fix an 0-4 team and more.

Onto the mailbag:

Q: This team is 0-4 and I am not sure how. Can you help me out on some trade targets or moves I can make.

Starters:
Drew Brees
Leonard Fournette
Dalvin Cook
Odell Beckham Jr.
Amari Cooper
Charles Clay
Christian McCaffrey
Bengalls D/ST
Ryan Succop

Bench:
Jeremy Maclin
Tyrell Williams
Carson Wentz
Tarik Cohen
Evan Engram
Wendell Smallwood
Travis Benjamin

I am going to drop succop and benjamin for greg zurlein and alvin kamara.
— Wyatt M.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there’s nothing you can really do about this team, just in the sense that this is, on paper, a pretty dang good team. I’m sure the problem has been just not knowing who to play when which is always the worst feeling in the world.

If you were really itching to make a move, I’d try and package Amari Cooper for a running back, especially now that Dalvin Cook is out for the year and Derek Carr is set to miss big time. See if you can sell high on Cooper and his potential for a back who maybe people are forgetting about or underrating. Names I like: Frank Gore, Tevin Coleman, maybe someone even like Mike Gillislee (if they’ve forgotten how many touchdowns he scores).

Ultimately, your team is going to get better. Drew Brees will get hot and you know Fournette, OBJ and McCaffrey still have plenty to offer the fantasy world. I’d think about replacing your D/ST, especially if the Lions are available.

Sometimes the best thing to do is to sit firm, and that might be your course of action here.

Q: Who goes for more points tonight: Brady or Winston?
— Lacey B.

A+ in the question department Lacey.

Let’s start with some facts:

Basically, this game is going to be a fantasy owner’s dream. Neither team can defend against the pass and both quarterbacks are slanging it all over the field. If you are in the very, very lucky position of owning both these guys OR you’re looking for a QB to start in DFS, my money is on Brady.

Call me biased, call me a homer, but I trust the Patriots to make midseason adjustments more so than the Buccaneers and I could see the Patriots defense playing at least marginally better this week then the utter shitshow we saw against the Panthers. I also trust a pissed off Brady to come wanting the heads of his opponents mounted on stakes.

But honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong with either. The Patriots can’t cover big receivers—Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess being examples A-Z—and Mike Evans is the best big receiver in the game right now. Plus Bucs are at home on a short week.

Or this will happen:

Q: Should the NFL really be including all white jerseys in color rush? Isn’t white technically not a color?
— Tim F.

From Websters:

white (adj): free from color

The NFL is stupid and is making the Patriots wear all white instead of rocking what could be the single greatest football jersey:

Give it red pants and I’d buy the crap out of that jersey.
