Hildenberger made his major league debut last year for the Minnesota Twins at the age of 26. He isn’t like many other pitchers in the league, as he throws with a sidearm action. He had a pretty impressive rookie season as all three of his per nine stats were way above average. His 7.33 K/BB was the ninth best out of anyone with at least 40 innings pitched. His HR/9 will likely be one of the best in the majors as his 22.4% hard contact rate ranks sixth and his 58.8% ground ball rate ranks twentieth among pitchers with at least 40 innings pitched. With an elite walk rate and hard contact rate, Hildenberger just needs to add saves to his resume to become a fantasy relevant reliever in 2018.
