Weekly NHL Forecaster 1/16 - 1/22
Below is the average of ‘CORSI For per 60 minutes' on the Home team and Away team to tell me if this is going to be a shot filled matchup. The graph below is sorted from the most offensively oriented games to the least offensively oriented. To put it in a nutshell, if you want goals scored - look at the top teams, if you want to see where your goalie will be seeing few shots and have the best opportunity look to the bottom. Updated as of 12/28/2017

Ten Notes:
1. Nashville Predators. Probably the most favorable schedule despite being on the road. Defensively weak Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton (who is much better on the road).
2. Minnesota Wild. WIth the existing rough week behind them they get some respite. Three home matches vs. subpar defensive teams. Good chance for Mikko Koivu to continue his strong play.
3. Philadelphia Flyers. Stagnent week than back to back at the end against easier opponents might be what they need or might be a recipe for disaster.
4. Columbus Blue Jackets. On the surface it seems like a favorable week but Carolina is on the rise as is Ottawa.
5. Florida Panthers. Same schedule as Minnesota, quite favorable.
6. Vancouver Canucks. Nashville, Chicago and Florida. You aren't playing a ton of Canucks as it is but continue to avoid.
7. Ottawa Senators. Columbus is tough defensively. St. Louis is tightening their D, Toronto is the wild card.
8. St. Louis Blues. On the flip side, St. Louis has Ottawa, Washington and Winnipeg, not fun for them.
9. Detroit Red Wings. My opinion they are on the rise but this week won't be their week - Montreal, Boston, NYR and I think Buffalo is not an easy out either.
10. New Jersey Devils. They get Minnesota and Montreal and their easy matchup is Philadelphia on the tail end of a back to back. I hope Taylor Hall brings his 'A' game.
