Jerad Eickhoff vs ATL (31% owned ESPN)
Mon, July 4
Jerad has made serious strides to become relevant in the fantasy world and real life. He's now notched 147 innings in his short career while producing a 3.12 ERA along with a 3.70 FIP. That's great for a guy that was never really highly touted. This year he has had only 1 poor outing and that was in March vs the Brewers. Since that start he's gone 71.2 IP with a 3.14 ERA. That's pretty damn good for a guy that's 30% owned. Use him vs ATL this week and in COL if you're feeling it...
Mike Leake vs PIT, @ MIL (40% owned ESPN)
Tues, July 5 & Sun, July 10
He's made the streamer report many times this year and deservedly so. He gets the job done. Pitt has been decent as of late but Leake has been good at home. I obviously like him vs the Brewers as well. Both PIT and MIL rank in the bottom 5 as far as offensive production over the past 30 days. That says enough about the soft competition Leake gets this week.
I'm streaming him where he's available.
Anthony DeSclafani vs CHC (36% owned ESPN)
Wed, July 6
The Red's righty has looked awesome since his return. I have been an advocate of him since he was a Marlin and still see upside with him. He hasn't had a bad start yet and the Cubbies look like they might be in a valley as far as performance goes. They've lost 10 of their last 14 and aside from the uber-hot combination of Bryant and Rizzo (aka Bryzzo) no one in there line up, save maybe Willson Contreras, looks too intimidating. I feel like this is a safe time to pick on the Cubs and start DeSclafani.
He is slowly getting less and less available since his return from the DL. I'd pick DeScla up if you need some SP help. He should be owned closer to 70-80% in my opinion.
Jeremy Hellickson vs ATL (17% owned ESPN)
Wed, July 6
Maybe the biggest surprise of the year in the NL. Hellickson has truly turned his career around. He was a popular guy to stack against in DFS for many years in the past. Not this year. He's been money for the increasingly impressive 2016 Phillies rotation.
He faces a very bad team who haven't seen him yet this year. I've got all my chips in on Hellickson this week for a very good quality start with 7+ strikeouts.
Brandon McCarthy vs SD (3.5% owned ESPN)
Fri, July 8
Brandon McCarthy is coming back from Tommy John Surgery. That's always scary, but it seems as if it's becoming more common for guys to fully rehab from it and look normal. He faces off against the Padres in his own cavernous stadium. Those two factors (opponent and stadium) warrant a stream this week for Brandon. STEAMER projection systems have him producing a 3.31 ERA over 30 innings this year. That speaks volumes to how valuable he can be. Line him up this week. He's only 4% owned!
