5ive Guys to Stream: Week 16 (July 25 - 31)

This week I am looking at guys owned in less than 30% of ESPN leagues. The window is tighter.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports
Jeremy Hellickson @ MIA & @ ATL (27% owned ESPN)

Mon, July 25 & Sat, July 30

For some reason Jeremy is being overlooked by many many fantasy managers. He's been on this list 5 or 6 times all year and continues to produce. A lot of trade speculation has swirled around Jeremy these last two weeks and rightfully so, the trade market for SP is pretty bad. Let's see what a prospective buyer would get in Hellickson:

Since July 1st through 26 IP

2.42 ERA

0.96 WHIP

22K:3BB

.212 AVG

He's been really tough against teams in his division. The Marlins and Braves are both in the bottom half of wOBA standings over the past month. I think Hellickson gets two great starts this week that are too hard to pass up on for a streaming opportunity.

Ervin Santana vs ATL & vs CWS (12.5% owned ESPN)

Tues, July 26 & Sun, July 31

Another under-the-radar trade chip here looking to prove he can pitch down the stretch for a contender. I think both Santana and Hellickson are going to be pitching out of their minds this upcoming week to get on a better team that's planning for the playoffs. These two vets want to get there. I feel a giant week for Santana since he'll be pitching at home where he just threw a CG 2-hitter earlier this month. He's got two of the lesser offenses in the league to go up against. Take advantage of the once known Johan Santana.

James Paxton @ PIT (13.3% owned ESPN)

Wed, July 27

James just made a reaaaaally good Toronto line up look pretty silly. He still has the heat to keep you intrigued in a breakout although he's gotten roughed up over the last month or so. Pittsburgh has not seen Paxton this year and I love that. The pitcher get's the advantage here in a giant park. Another plus is that Paxton gets to pitch against an opposing pitcher more than once which almost guarantees a few more Ks that usual.

Zach Eflin @ MIA (16% owned ESPN)

Wed, July 27

Two CG's in his first MLB stint! Pick him up. This kid has serious potential. He commands well and has strikeout stuff. The Phillies pitching staff has just been wonderful to say the least and a lot of thanks can be said to Bob McClure. Zach has given up more than 3 runs only once in his short MLB career. I really like what he's done this year and expect his success to continue down the stretch. He's a stud in the making.

Nathan Eovaldi @ TB (12.2% owned ESPN)

Sat, July 30

Nathan Eovaldi has the Rays this week who are ranked 12/15 in the AL for wOBA over the past month. He gets the benefit of playing in Tropicana versus pitching at Yankee Stadium. He's currently pitching a nice game versus the Giants. As of this writing he has pitched five scoreless innings at home while striking out 4. I like the match up next Saturday. Give Nate a go this week.
