Reminder: Always double check the lineup card before rosters lock to make sure that a player you've chosen to roster is playing that day, and check the weather to make sure your players won't get rained out of their game.
FanDuel has made some tweaks to their scoring criteria for 2016. Check that out here. FanDuel is also only available to play for money in specific states. See their website for more details to see if FanDuel is playable for cash in your home state.
Pitching
For a salary relief option today, Nathan Eovaldi ($7,900) against a right handed heavy and poor Padres offense is an intriguing play. The Padres are the second worst offense in MLB vs RHP by wRC+ at 77. They have the 5th lowest ISO at .139, and the 4th highest K% at 23.8%. Eovaldi gets a huge park and run scoring environment upgrade, moving from Yankee Stadium to PetCo, where he's less likely to be burned by the home run, which is what has mostly killed him this season. Eovaldi has a hideous 5.19 ERA and 4.87 FIP, so a fantasy owner would be gambling on him pitching much better against the poor opposition and much more friendly park effects. Eovaldi's bad ERA will probably make him low owned in tournaments.
An alternate I like is Michael Fulmer ($8,400) against the Rays. The Rays have the 2nd highest K% vs RHP at 25.1%, and a bottom third 90 wRC+. Fulmer's change up has taken a large leap forward at the MLB level, giving him a better third pitch to go along with this mid 90s fastball and wipeout slider. Fulmer has a 23% K%, 2.84 ERA and 3.82 FIP.
Hitting: Oakland Athletics stack
Below average LHP Jeff Locke faces the A's today. The A's have some players with strong numbers vs lefties. The first is Jake Smolinski ($2,700) who has hit LHP to a ridiculous 202 wRC+ and .373 ISO since joining the A's last season, although in a small sample of less than 100 PA. Danny Valencia ($3,800) has hit LHP to a 170 wRC+ and .264 ISO since the start of 2015. Marcus Semien ($3,300) has hit LHP to a 146 wRC+ and .211 ISO since the start of 2015. Catcher Josh Phegley ($2,900) has hit LHP to a 117 wRC+ and .170 ISO since the start of last season. Locke is allowing a .280/.347/.490 line to RHB.
