Reminder: Always double check the lineup card before rosters lock to make sure that a player you've chosen to roster is playing that day, and check the weather to make sure your players won't get rained out of their game.
FanDuel has made some tweaks to their scoring criteria for 2016. Check that out here. FanDuel is also only available to play for money in specific states. See their website for more details to see if FanDuel is playable for cash in your home state.
The pitcher I'm targeting tonight is Yu Darvish ($9,600). Darvish faces a high strikeout Astros offense that is striking out 25.1% of the time vs RHP, third most in baseball. Their 95 wRC+ vs RHP is mediocre. Through 2 starts back, Darvish has a 28% K% and 1.43 FIP, and his velocity has been as good as ever. Darvish's pitch counts have been somewhat capped as he builds his way back from TJ surgery, but he will probably be able to throw around 100 pitches tonight, not far from the norm for most starters. Doug Fister opposes Darvish, a below average pitcher.
For hitters, the aforementioned Fister is allowing a .297/.362/.536 line to lefties with a 5.75 FIP. Newly appointed leadoff hitter Jurickson Profar ($3,100) is killing RHP so far in a small sample to a 191 wRC+ and .324 ISO. That level of production won't last, but he's been one of the most talented infield prospects in recent years and I expect him to continue to hit well.
In Yankee Stadium, Jered Weaver and his 5+ ERA and 5+ FIP pitch. He's been poor against both RHB and LHB. C Brian McCann ($3,100) has extreme home/road home run splits as a Yankee, with 70% of his home runs coming at home in Yankee Stadium.
Alfredo Simon has been one of the least effective pitchers in baseball this year and faces the Cardinals offense in Great American Ballpark. Simon's slash lines include:
- .360/.413/.636 to LHB
- .311/.425/.514 to RHB
Stacking Cardinals hitters is a wise move. Matt Carpenter ($4,000) has a 161 wRC+ and .295 ISO vs RHP this year. Matt Adams ($3,400) has a 158 wRC+ and .248 ISO vs RHP. Aledyms Diaz ($3,400) has a 151 wRC+ and .243 ISO vs RHP.
