Reminder: Always double check the lineup card before rosters lock to make sure that a player you've chosen to roster is playing that day, and check the weather to make sure your players won't get rained out of their game.
FanDuel has made some tweaks to their scoring criteria for 2016. Check that out here. FanDuel is also only available to play for money in specific states. See their website for more details to see if FanDuel is playable for cash in your home state.
The best pitching option for me today is Kyle Hendricks ($8,500) vs the Phillies. The Phillies have the third worst wRC+ vs RHP at 77 with a bottom third ISO and below average K%. Hendricks is pitching to a 2.84 ERA, 2.93 FIP and 21% K% and will be a big favorite to get the win with the Cubs offense backing him. Hendricks also provides some salary relief to fit some more expensive hitting in a lineup.
A higher upside but riskier option is Zack Greinke ($10,300) vs the Rays in Arizona. The Rays have the 2nd highest K% vs RHP at 25.5%, so there's some strikeout upside here. The risk is that the Rays have a top 10 offense by wRC+, top 5 by ISO, and the matchup takes place in hitter friendly Chase Field. Greinke is also more expensive and places a bigger cap on hitters.
By playing Hendricks, more money is available for expensive hitters. Here are some options. The Blue Jays get below average lefty Matt Boyd in Detroit today, where Josh Donaldson ($4,000) and Jose Bautista ($4,500) have a history of destroying lefties. Donaldson is playing through a thumb issue, though, and it's not clear whether that will affect him at the plate. The Blue Jays also get a park downgrade in Detroit.
Paul Goldschmidt ($4,000) faces below average LHP Matt Moore in Chase Field. Goldschmidt has killed lefties in the last year, hitting them to an OPS over 1.000 with a wRC+ of 170.
The Nationals go to hitter friendly U.S. Cellular Field to face below average Mat Latos. Daniel Murphy ($4,200) has hit RHP to a 197 wRC+ and .279 ISO this year. Bryce Harper ($4,000) has hit RHP to a 151 wRC+ and .288 ISO this year.
At the catcher position, Stephen Vogt ($3,100) gets a park upgrade in Milwaukee and faces below average RHP Zach Davies. Vogt has hit RHP to a 115 wRC+ and .151 ISO this year, and Davies has allowed a very poor .294/.359/.524 slash to left handed hitters this year.
