Reminder: Always double check the lineup card before rosters lock to make sure that a player you've chosen to roster is playing that day, and check the weather to make sure your players won't get rained out of their game.
FanDuel has made some tweaks to their scoring criteria for 2016. Check that out here. FanDuel is also only available to play for money in specific states. See their website for more details to see if FanDuel is playable for cash in your home state.
Late
Pitcher
Vincent Velasquez ($9,000) will probably be highly owned after his CG, 16 K performance last time out. I think I'm going to go with Francisco Liriano ($9,500) today against a poor Padres offense. Liriano's strikeout rate has sat around 26% the last few seasons, and although PetCo isn't quite the same the pitcher haven it traditionally has been, possibly because of construction in downtown San Diego changing ballpark wind patterns, it's still a nice place to pitch. Colin Rea pitches for San Diego, a below average pitcher. I don't know if Liriano will be limited after missing last start with a tight hamstring, but if he isn't, he looks like a good bet to go 6-7 innings with a strong strikeout total and be in position to get the win.
Hitting
Dodgers lefties vs Julio Teheran
Teheran has been woefully ineffective vs lefties since the start of last season. He's allowed a .297/.389/.522 slash to lefties with a 5.71 ERA and 6.32 FIP. SS Corey Seager has gotten off to a slow start, but he's one of the more talented young hitters in the National League, and is priced reasonably at $3,400. He also bats 2nd against RHP. OF Joc Pederson ($2,800) is hurt somewhat by his bottom third lineup slot, but he's hit RHP to a 122 wRC+ and .208 ISO since debuting. Catcher Yasmani Grandal ($2,700) recently returned from the DL and has hit RHP to a 120 wRC+ and .198 ISO since the start of 2014. None of these players break the bank price wise, and they're in an excellent matchup against a righty that has a lot of trouble limiting production against left handed hitters.
Second base: Jose Altuve ($4,900) vs Derek Holland
Altuve is one of the guys that I always look to play when he's facing an average or below average left handed pitcher. He's hit LHP to an elite 176 wRC+ and .163 ISO since 2014 and brings the threat of tacking on extra points with stolen bases using his speed. He faces Derek Holland, who fits that average to below average lefty description. Carlos Correa is also a good option here if a fantasy owner would rather pay up for him than use Corey Seager. Correa has hit LHP to a 145 wRC+ and .276 ISO since debuting.
