Fantasy Hockey Week 19 Team Forecast

Favorable schedules, who has an easy road ahead, who has it tough. 2/7/2016 - 2/14/2016. Time for Mike Babcock and the Maple Leafs to shine.

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

Goals Against - a low ranking means they let in lots of goals (Ottawa is letting in 3.22 goals against per game, they are ranked #1).

Goals for - the lower the ranking the more the team scores (Washington is scoring the most goals for per game at 3.33 and is the number 1 ranking).

So you want to face a team with a low GA and a high GF. This is based off this seasons goals for and against, it will be updated as the season progresses to be a larger aggregate of this year.

Number of games this week:
4 Games: Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings, NY Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers and Tampa Bay Lightning
3 Games: Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild, NY Islanders, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets
2 Games: Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens

Favorable Offensive Matchups:
Toronto Maple Leafs. Three matchups on the road vs. various Canadien counterparts. Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver are all among the 9 worst teams defensively. Nazem Kadri's barrage of shots is paying off over the last month, he's only 36% owned right now.

Vancouver Canucks. They obvious face Toronto at home per above but also have a back to back on the road against Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes who are both in the worst ten. Bo Horvat is averaging over a point per game over the last month and is 8% owned. Sven Baertschi is averaging a point 63% of the time over the last month and he's 1% owned.
Calgary Flames. They face Toronto, San Jose Sharks (who are middle of the road allowing 2.66 goals per game) and Arizona Coyotes who are allowing 3.08 goals per game, 3rd worst in the league. Kris Russel gets a lot of blocked shots but might see an upswing in Power Play Points as he is likely to fill in for Dennis Wideman at the point.

Unfavorable Offensive Matchups:
Nashville Predators. Washington (second best defense in the league thanks to Braden Holtby dominating in net). Tampa Bay (6th best defense thanks to Ben Bishop) and Florida (best defense in the league thanks to Roberto Luongo). All of them are allowing 2.36 goals or fewer this year.
Dallas Stars. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin meet Devan Dubnyk, Corey Crawford and Braden Holtby. Something's going to give. All three teams are allowing fewer than 2.43 goals per game.
NY Rangers. They have four games which is a positive but they face 3 teams in the top ten and a red hot Philadelphia Flyers team. New Jersey, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles are allowing 2.37 goals or fewer per game.

Favorable Defensive Matchups:
Edmonton Oilers. They are at New Jersey and home to Toronto and Winnipeg, the latter two are scoring less than 2.78 goals per game. Jordan Eberle might keep his +2 over the last month going along with his 10 points. Cam Talbot has two straight wins as well.
Florida Panthers. The best defensive team gets a favorable week. At Detroit and Buffalo and home against St. Louis and Nashville. All of them are in the bottom ten scoring fewer than 2.54 goals per game. Roberto Luongo should have a good week and Brian Campbell has had a good month.
Philadelphia Flyers. Michael Neuvirth is playing well lately. They face Anaheim (worst offensive team), Buffalo (3rd worst), New Jersey 2nd worst) and NY Rangers (5th best). The first 3 are scoring less than 2.31 goals per game. Evgeni Medvedev has 3 points and a plus 3 in the last 11 games.

Unfavorable Defensive Matchups:
Minnesota Wild. Dallas, Washington and Boston. The three best offensive teams. Avoid Devan Dubnyk if possible.
Detroit Red Wings. Florida, Ottawa, Colorado and Boston all in the top 10. All scoring at least 2.72 goals per game. Petr Mrazek has consecutive rough weeks.
Nashville Predators. Rough post All-Star stretch here. If you can avoid Pekka Rinne, Ryan Johannsen and Filip Forsberg. These teams are all above average offenses and Florida is red hot right now.
