Waiver Adds You Should Start This Week

NFL: San Diego Chargers at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Gearing up for your fantasy playoffs? Take a look at a few of my favorite low-owned waiver adds for week 13.

Whether you’re sitting atop the playoff seeding or struggling to get that last playoff spot, there are plenty of guys you can plug and play, or pick-up to block your league-mates.

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Indianapolis (-1.5) @ New York Jets, +/- 49

It might be hard to bet your fantasy season on Ryan Fitzpatrick, but fortune favors the bold! The Jets are at home for a Monday night matchup against a Colts side that has been terrible on defense all year. I think the Jets build off of their strong showing against the Patriots and end up besting the Colts in a bit of a shootout on MNF.

Anquan Boldin – Detroit @ New Orleans (-6), 53.5

Boldin gives you a nice piece of the biggest over/under total here in Week 13. It’s been another steady season for Anquan, and against the Saints suspect secondary, we can expect a repeat of something like last week’s 70 yards and a touchdown line.

Jalen Richard – Buffalo @ Oakland (-3), +/- 49

You’d have to be absolutely desperate to even consider Richard here, but he’s the only back under 33% I can even consider. If you can at all manage it, I’d much rather lock up one of the sure-fire handcuffs like DeAngelo Williams or even Kapri Bibbs. But, if I have to plug and pray… I’d take a shot on Richard.

Ladarius Green – New York Giants @ Pittsburgh (-6), +/- 48.5

We’re starting to see flashes of what got me so excited about the Green-to-Pittsburgh move this off-season. If green can builds on what he did last weekend against the Colts, this may be the last chance you have to pick up a solid tight end for the stretch run.

Josh Lambo – Buffalo @ San Diego (-3.5), +/- 47.5

At my day job, people go to great lengths to try and convince others to always put throw their recyclables in their recycling bins instead of in their trash can. What these eco-warriors don’t know, and what I’ll gladly keep to myself is, at the end of the day, the janitors come and empty both the trash and the recycling bins in to the same big trash can.

Writing about what kicker to pick up each week feels like throwing things in the recycling bin at work.

Cincinnati – Philadelphia @ Cincinnati (-1), +/- 42

With the Eagles offense struggling, I like the Bengals DST this week. Cincy has been playing teams close and avoiding giving up huge points in the second half of the year. Against a rookie quarterback and playing at home, I like the potential for the Bengals.
