Weekly NHL Forecaster 11/7 - 11/13
Below is the average of ‘CORSI For' on the Home team and Away team to tell me if this is going to be a shot filled matchup. The graph below is sorted from the most offensively oriented games to the least offensively oriented. To put it in a nutshell, if you want goals scored - look at the top teams, if you want to see where your goalie will be seeing few shots and have the best opportunity look to the bottom.

Ten Notes:
1. Toronto Maple Leafs have an offensively charged schedule this week (at LA who is struggling with goalie injuries, at Philadelphia who struggles with goals allowed and home vs. Pittsburgh who is up and down). William Nylander is now 82% owned which is great but don't ignore Mitchell Marner (currently 33% owned). He scored two last night and looks like the very small curve to the pros is overcome.
2. Colorado Avalanche find themselves in an interesting situation with low CORSI for BUT facing two teams in the bottom 5 in goals allowed. Something has to give and I'm leaning towards Colorado being in a down year for scoring goals. I'd avoid starting Aves players if possible this week.
3. Buffalo Sabres have an enticing 4 start week but New Jersey's defense and goalie situation are stifling. Boston and Ottawa are also in the lowest ten in goals allowed. Not that you likely have a ton of Buffalo players, but avoid playing them if possible.
4. Washington Capitals is on a 4 game win streak, has three middle of the road matchups in goals allowed but I don't think it can hurt to ride the streak. Marcus Johansson (64% owned) has 5 goals in the last week.
5. Montreal Canadiens - same goes for them, 8 game win streak, they face 4 games this week all middle of the road. They've achieved a lot of their winning through very strong defense. Having played just 2 games this past week they scored 5 goals over those two games. This team should post some favorable +/- at this rate. Additionally - they lead the league in goals scored per game on the road and 3 of their 4 games are away.
6. Vancouver Canucks are coming back down to what people expected going 3-6-1 over their last ten. They have a tough CORSI For schedule for the week. They face an up and down week of matchups but three of them are at home. They are dead last in the league in goals scored.
7. Carolina Hurricanes - I feel for their matchup, first it's NJ who is the best team in goals allowed. Next they fly across country to Anaheim who has two players in the top 15 in hits (Nick Ritchie and Chris Wagner) finally they play offensively talented Washington.
8. NYR have two home games at the end of the week, they have scored for goals per game on average at home than any team in the NHL
9. Arizona Coyotes - They are a vastly different road team from home. They are allowing a league high 4.5 goals per game on the road but ALSO scoring a 3rd most goals. Expect their two away games (Wpg and Boston who are in the top ten in goals allowed at home) to be a goal fest.
10. Minnesota Wild are very strong at home, they are 4-1 with the 4th most goals and 5th fewest goals against. They have all three of their games this week at home against Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Ottawa
