Favorable schedules, matchups and teams for the week ahead.

Weekly NHL Forecaster 11/27 - 12/4

Below is the average of ‘CORSI For per 60 minutes' on the Home team and Away team to tell me if this is going to be a shot filled matchup. The graph below is sorted from the most offensively oriented games to the least offensively oriented. To put it in a nutshell, if you want goals scored -€” look at the top teams, if you want to see where your goalie will be seeing few shots and have the best opportunity look to the bottom.

Ten Notes:
1. St. Louis has the 26th most goals and has allowed the 10th most goals on the road. All three matchups this week are on the road. AVOID.

2. Edmonton also has all three games on the road but they've scored the 3rd most road goals (along with allowing the 6th most goals against. Start forwards, not goalies or +/- needs.
3. Toronto is in the same boat as Edmonton but with home matchups. They have the most goals at home as well as the most goals against, all three are at home against other Canadian rivals, start the forwards, avoid the goalies and +/- situations. Tyler Bozak (15% owned) has 5 assists over the last two weeks along JVR and Mitchell Marner

4. Florida Panthers also have 3 home matchups but are the opposite from Edmonton and Toronto. Stick with their goaltending as they are a brick wall at home. James Reimer (32% owned) would be a good spot start mid-week.

5. Montreal Canadiens have the third most goals at home, all three matches are at home so despite the low CORSI, I'm bullish on a nice week for the Habs. Paul Byron (15% owned) has had 6 points in the last 2 weeks.

6.  Columbus leads the league in Power Play goals. They also happen to play Colorado who has been shorthanded the 5th most times in the league AND has the 6th worst Penalty Kill in the league. Alexander Wennberg (46% owned) and Nick Foligno (77% owned) are two of the top 4 in PPP right now.

7. Arizona who is already struggling with any offensive production, faces the a tough schedule this week. They are up against teams allowing the 3rd, 7th and 15th fewest goals, two of these games being on the road.

8. Tampa Bay has a similarly difficult week: they face the 2nd, 3rd, 12th and 14th stingiest defenses. Oh and Steven Stamkos is still out.

9. Minnesota will face an offensive gimme with the 6th, 7th and 9th worst road teams in terms of allowing goals against. This might be very beneficial for Eric Staal (47% owned), Jared Spurgeon (11% owned), Charlie Coyle (27% owned) Nino Niederreiter (11% owned) and Mikael Grandlund (8% owned) all have positive +/- and had at least 3 points in the last 6 games.

10. Detroit faces a 4 game week against teams allowing the 2nd, 8th, 9th and 13th most goals this year. While Detroit has struggled on the road (where their first two games are) this might be a week to see an emergence from slumps from Frans Nielsen (14% owned), Dylan Larkin (76% owned), Tomas Tatar (21% owned) and Riley Sheahan (1% owned)
